Dragster #2 - "Dragmaster"
In 1964, after running the Moss car for 2 years, it was sold to the Crossmembers. We decided to move up a little and bought a Dragmaster car from Tom Hoover. It first ran with the small block Chevy, but with some frame modifications and a search for more power, it was converted to a Blown “Hemi”. The Performance of the two AA/GD cars and the many drivers that year resulted in GSTA winning the NHRA Division 5 Top Gas Championship title. We ran this for 2 years with many people still able to make a pass. NHRA’s Division 5 Director, Darrell Zimmerman said, “This is a really great group of guys. GSTA runs Minnesota Dragways in Minneapolis. The hat of West Central is off to GSTA for winning the Central Divisional points contest and big congratulations to you all.
